Read along

Down by the water, right under the bridge, is a place called Fort Baker. A long time ago, it was an army fort full of soldiers, and they marched on the big green lawn and lived in those white houses. The fort is named after a man named Edward Baker.

He was best friends with President Abraham Lincoln! They were such good friends that Abraham Lincoln named one of his own sons Edward Baker Lincoln. Today there aren't any soldiers marching around.

Instead, there's a hotel, a little beach, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum, where kids can climb, build, and splash. Maybe you've even been there!
